When employees are made redundant for economic reasons as part of a compulsory liquidation, they are summoned to a pre-redundancy interview. During this interview, employers are required to offer employees a job security contract (CSP- Contrat de sécurisation professionnelle).
Unemployment rights for employees following a judicial liquidation vary depending on whether the employee accepts or rejects the principle of the CSP. If the employee accepts the CSP, he or she is entitled to receive the vocational security allowance (ASP-Allocation de sécurisation professionnelle). The amount of the ASP entitlement varies according to the employee’s length of service with the company.
If the employee refuses the CSP, he or she is entitled to unemployment benefits, provided that he or she has worked for at least 6 months in the 24 months prior to the date of termination of his or her employment contract.
