How long do collective proceedings last?

In the case of receivership or safeguard proceedings, an observation period of 6 months begins as soon as the decision to initiate the proceedings is handed down. This period may be extended by court decision up to a maximum of 18 months.

There is no precise legal time limit for the duration of the judicial liquidation procedure. It depends on the number of employees, the assets to be liquidated and the litigation involved. It can take several years, and depending on these parameters, the court will set the duration of the proceedings.
